William J. McCormick, age 82, of Monongahela, Pa., owner and operator of McCormick Drilling Company in Bentleyville for 50 years and also numerous small water companies in Greene, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties, Veteran of World War II who served in the United States Army Air Corps in the South Pacific Theatre, 1938 graduate of Bentleyville High School, who was born in Bentleyville, Pa., died unexpectedly Friday, November 15, 2002, in his home. He is survived by a son, Attorney William Jon McCormick, Bentleyville, Pa.; grandson, Attorney John M. Petrisek, Ellsworth, Pa.; granddaughter, Janet Petrisek Reed, Charleroi, Pa.; sister, Mrs. William (Gloria McCormick) Roth, Palmyra, Pa.; brother, James “Jerry” McCormick, Fayetteville, New York; two great granddaughters and one great grandson.

Friends will be received in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, November 19, until 11 a.m.
