George E. (Junese) Shubert
George E. (Junese) Shubert, 62, of Monarch, Pa., died Friday, November 15, 2002 at Highlands Hospital, Connellsville, Pa. He was born October 12, 1940 in Monarch, a son of the late George Sr. and Mary (Langor) Shubert.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Donald and Bernard Shubert.
He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Roman Catholic Church in Leisenring, Pa. Prior to his retirement he worked for the PA Dept. of Transportation for 30 years. George served as president of the Monarch Fire Department and was a member of the Fayette County Fireman’s Association. He was also a member of the Independent Slovak Citizens Club in Connellsville, the Masonic Lodge in Dawson and the Juanita Sportsmen Club.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Nancy (Miller) Shubert; two children, Ken Shubert of Monarch and Susan (Susie) Gaster and husband Bill of Monarch; three sisters Josephine Cross of Milesburg, Pa., Betty Nagy of Monarch and Geraldine Dreese and husband Jerry of Bellefonte, Pa.; two brothers James Shubert and wife Esther of Connellsville and Robert Shubert and wife Barb of Little Summit, Pa.
Friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 418 N. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, Pa., where a Blessing Service will be held today at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent DePaul Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Peter Peretti as Celebrant.
Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
