John Viecelli Jr.
John Viecelli Jr., 76, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2002 at Uniontown Hospital. He was born September 9, 1926 in Westmoreland City, Pa., the son of the late John Sr. and Louise (Marsiglio) Viecelli.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Moses Viecelli and three sisters, Louise Derry, Guerina Soskinski and Corona Struzzi.
John was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the Fairview Methodist Church. He retired as a foreman from Steel Scaffolding Company in Uniontown. He loved outdoors and gardening. John was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Laura J. (Lintner) Viecelli; two daughters, Judy Huston and husband Gary of Uniontown and Johnita Hilling of Ralph, Pa.; four grandchildren, Allison Hilling, Rachel Seigman and husband Eric, Michael Hilling and Lisa Hilling; two great grandchildren, Alec McDaniel and Olivia Seighman; two brothers Alben Viecelli and wife Betty and William Viecelli and wife Sally, both of Westmoreland City, Pa., and three sisters Jenny Cruder and Eleanor Schnupp both of Westmoreland City, Pa. and Marie Globish and husband Edward of Harrisburg, Pa. and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday until 11 a.m. when a service will be held in the funeral home chapel.
Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery Masoleum.
Military honors will be accorded by the Amvets Post 103 of Hopwood, Pa.
