Fire investigation
The city police and fire department continue to investigate the cause of an early morning fire that severely damaged a 338 Arch St. residence and moderately damaged a neighboring home.
According to Connellsville police Chief Stephen Cooper, the cause of the blaze has not been determined by Sgt. Vincent Traynor, the city fire investigator.
The homeowner, Donald Stewart, was in the residence when the fire broke out shortly after midnight, but was not injured.
He was later charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after he was allegedly found to be intoxicated and causing a disturbance at the scene of the fire.
