Ronald Edward Nicholas Sr.
Ronald Edward Nicholas Sr., 50, of Cambridge, Md., formerly of Brownsville, Pa., passed away Saturday, November 23, 2002, at his residence. He was born in Brownsville on February 2, 1952, son of the late James Edward and Francis Elizabeth Carter Nicholas.
He was a graduate of Brownsville High School and attended Penn State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of 15 years and was stationed overseas on several assignments. He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Cambridge, where he was director of the youth choir and sang and played for the church. He was a former member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Brownsville, where he sang with and was pianist for several choirs. He also organized, sang and played with many bands and groups throughout his life.
He leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his memory a son, Ronald Edward Nicholas Jr. of Philadelphia; a daughter, Latanya Moore and her husband, Aaron, of Philadelphia; two brothers, James A. Nicholas and his wife, Mary, of New York City, and Robert S. Nicholas and his wife, Dr. Doris M. Nicholas, of Morgantown, W.Va.; six sisters, Barbara Hamilton and Shelly Moore of Pittsburgh, Tracey Nicholas of Washington, D.C., Belinda Owens and her husband, Anthony, of Morgantown, and Susan V. Nicholas-Drew and Toni Nicholas of Monessen; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Friends will be received at the Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Baltimore Street, Brownsville, Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service conducted by Pastor Herman B. Jackson.
Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brownsville.
Arrangements are being handled by LAW FUNERAL HOME, 135 Angle St., Brownsville.
