Sophia Kringeta
Sophia Kringeta, age 86, of Uniontown passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, in Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown. She was born Nov. 16, 1916, in Cardale, Pa., daughter of the late Louis and Mary Vucnich Bryan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Sophia was a graduate of Redstone High School class of 1935, and she was very active throughout her life with the Salvation Army in Uniontown.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann (Babe) Verbos and husband, Edward, of Middleburg Heights, Ohio; her son, Nicholas Kringeta and wife, Janice, of Warren, Ohio; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; beloved niece and caregiver Gloria Norman of Palmer; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, when Panachida will be held in the funeral home, followed at 10 a.m. by a funeral service in the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, New Salem, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. Vitaly Dudkin officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Orthodox Church Cemetery. Parastas will be held in the funeral home today at 7:30 p.m.
