MISSIONARY SOCIETY of Fallen Timbers Community Chapel, one mile north of Point Marion, just off Route 119, will hold a yard sale Saturday form 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crafts, baked goods and homemade soups and sandwiches will also be available. ST. VINCENT DEPAUL CHURCH, Leisenring, will hold a soup and salad bar from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the church social hall. Costs are $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 10 and younger.
SOUTHWESTERN LOCAL TASK FORCE meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Intermediate Unit 1, Coal Center. ALANON, an anonymous 12-step support group providing hope for families and friends who have concerns with someone’s drinking, meet at 7:30 p.m. Fridays at the Christian Church of Connellsville, 212 S. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville. Alateen, a 12-step support group for children 10 through 19, provides hope for their concerns with someone’s drinking meets at the same time and day.
FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH, Republic, will hold a turkey dinner Thursday and Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4 to 6:30 p.m. each day. Meals are $6 for adults and $3 for children under ages 12. Take-out orders will be available by calling 724-246-9387.
FORT BURD UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, next to Brownsville General Hospital, will hold a rummage sale, ham barbecue and bake sale Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is sponsored by the Women’s Association.
