Reno L. Mosier Jr.

Reno L. Mosier, Jr., 84, of Smock, Pa., passed away on Friday, September 27, 2002 in King’s Personal Care Home. He was born February 16, 1918 in Uppermiddletown, Pa., the son of Reno L. Mosier, Sr., and Dora A. Haggerty Mosier.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Lorraine M. Mosier, three brothers Rebok, Taylor and George Mosier.

Reno was a graduate of Uniontown High School, Class of 1936 and served with the United States Navy during World War II. He retired as Postmaster at Roscoe, Pa. after 37 years service with the United States Postal Service.

Reno was a member of the Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church, Past Grand Noble of I.O.O.F. Lodge 254 of Waltersburg, Pa., Past Post Commander of American Legion Post 51, Past County Legion Commander, member of the Flatwoods Volunteer Fire Department and former captain of the Franklin Township Fire Police.

Reno is survived by a son Robert Mosier and his wife Barbara of Smock; two daughters Lynn Carol Skugrud of Becida, Minnesota, and Lois Marie Koon and her husband Russell of Bowie, Maryland; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sisters Violet E. Rankin of Hyattsville, Md., Sara E. Glisan of New Salem and Dorothy Quinn of Smock.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, Pa., where friends may call today from 10 a.m. until noon when services will be held with Rev. D.W. Norton officiating.

Interment will follow in the Pleasant View I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.

Full military rites will be accorded at the gravesite by American Legion Post 51 and North Union VFW Post 8531.
