Ronald B. “Jake” Smitley
Ronald B. “Jake” Smitley, 46, of Spraggs, Pa., died Saturday, September 28, 2002 in a traffic accident near Kirby. He was born October 25, 1955 in Waynesburg, Pa., a son of Elmer Smitley of Waynesburg and Patricia Shenal Hamercheck of Dry Tavern.
He was educated in the Jefferson-Morgan School District and was a member of the Class of 1974.
Mr. Smitley was employed as a laborer for Watters Pools at Carmichaels and had worked for several years at Dynamic Recovery Inc. at Clarksville.
He was a lifetime resident of Greene County and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by a sister Shelley Snyder.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his stepmother, Patty Smitley of Waynesburg and his stepfather Dale Hamercheck of Dry Tavern; one daughter, Rachelle Smitley of Waynesburg; one son, Shaun Smitley of Carmichaels; one sister Mrs. Robert (Connie) Nyswaner of Clarksville and two nephews, Christian Nyswaner and Curtis Snyder.
Friends of Ronald B. “Jake” Smitley of Spraggs, who died Saturday, September 28, 2002 will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the BEHM FUNERAL HOMES INC., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Pa., Gregory P. Rohanna Supervisor where services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday with Rev. Domenick Sgro officiating.
Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery.
