Carmella L. Murray
Carmella L. (Branca) Murray, 78, of Uniontown, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 27, 2002. She was born December 13, 1923 in Washington, Pa., the daughter of Dominick Branca and Angeline Gallo Branca.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John K. Murray who passed away on March 19, 1999 and a sister, Anna Zangla and two brothers Albert and Samuel Branca.
Carmella was a retired teacher’s aide with Intermediate Unit I and was a member of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church. She was formerly a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and its Confraternity of Christian Mothers and Choir.
She is survived by her children Dave “Dickie” Barnes and his wife Carolyn of Las Vegas, Nevada, Shirley Slampak of Lemont Furnace, Pa., Mark Barnes and his wife Debbie of Smithfield, Pa., Joyce Palya and her husband Richard of Hopwood, Pa., Terry Murray and wife Shelly of Uniontown, Pa., Debbie (Murray) Fotta and fiance Brian Sprowls of Uniontown, Pa.; nine grandchildren, David Barnes Jr. and Donald Barnes, Lisa Slampak, Desiree and Marcus Barnes, Richie Palya and Jeffrey Palya and Marcelle and Malayna Murray; two great grandchildren Bryan and Hayley Barnes; a brother Ralph Branca of Akron, Ohio and two sisters Mary Pacelli of Schenectady, New York, and Madeline Maust of Uniontown, Pa.; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and close friends.
Friends will be received at the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., a Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 W. Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa. today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday until 9 a.m. when Prayers of Transit will be said, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m., at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Patrick O’Conner as celebrant.
