Trailer fire
Firefighters contained a fire that resulted in minimal damage to a vacant trailer at the intersection of Tree Farm and Footedale-Lambert roads Monday just after 5 p.m. Albert Constable, an assistant chief of the Footedale Volunteer Fire Department, said the small fire began in a hallway of the trailer that has been vacant for about seven years and had no utility service. He said smoke and heat caused most of the damage.
State police fire marshals are investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
Nobody was injured. McClellandtown and New Salem fire departments also responded to the call along with Fayette EMS.

Megan’s Law investigation
State police in Uniontown are investigating the failure of a 41-year-old man, who police said is a sexual offender under Megan’s Law, to register and notify police about his change of address. Police said the law requires such offenders to register with police once a year and tell them about any change in address. Police said incident began June 12, 2001 and is ongoing. The location of the incident is North Manor.

Pot plants seized
City and state police removed nine marijuana plants from a garden at 42 Walnut St. Tuesday. Uniontown Police Chief Kyle Sneddon said an anonymous tip led officers to the plants, some of which were about 5 feet tall. Assorted paraphernalia was also confiscated. Sneddon said no arrests were made as the case remains under investigation.
Marianna
DUI arrest
State police in Washington said Vanessa R. Ferguson of Marianna struck two cars parked along Fourth Street 9:40 p.m. Saturday and abandoned her disabled car. She was found later and taken into custody for driving under the influence and hit-and-run charges, said state police.
Ferguson was not injured. Delphine Moore and Mary Semenoff, both of Marianna, are the owners of the parked cars, police said.

DUI charged
Charges of driving under the influence of alcohol were filed against Timothy Wayne Areford, 35, of Waynesburg following a traffic stop on Route 40 at Ellwood Park Road, state police in Waynesburg said. His blood-alcohol content was .284 percent, police added.
West Pike Run Twp.
Burglary investigation
Merchandise valued at $2,637 was taken during a 2:35 a.m. Tuesday burglary at Chuck’s BP Gas Station/Mini Mart on Route 481, state police in Belle Vernon said. Unknown burglars threw two concrete blocks through glass doors and took 50 cartons of cigarettes, 146 cans of chewing tobacco and three rolls of quarters. Police ask anybody with information about the incident to call the barracks at 724-929-6262.

Man arrested
Glenn W. Geary of Connellsville was charged with aggravated assault 10:30 p.m. Monday after he allegedly threatened Sally A. Geary of Connellsville with a knife and a scissors and then threw her to the ground along Geary Drive, state police said. He was arraigned by District Justice Wendy Dennis and committed to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $25,000 percentage bond.

Charges filed
State police filed harassment charges against Kevin E. Lake, 23, of Perryopolis after he allegedly threatened Alex Clingenpeel, 18, of Perryopolis 9:35 p.m. Sunday at the Star Junction Gulf station and McDonald’s Restaurant on Route 51. The charges were filed at District Justice Michael Rubish’s office.

Theft reported
State police said a gray 3-horsepower Craftsman lawn tractor owned by Sheila Rae Stewart was taken from 12 Lakeview Lane between Sept. 23 and 30.

Two-vehicle accident
State police said Fred Glumsic, 73, of Shadyside, Md., and Henry Gephart, 48, of Carmichaels were involved in an accident 2:45 p.m. Sept. 24 on Route 21 in front of Ansel’s Tire Outlet.

Two-vehicle accident
Miguel A. Torres, 40, of Adah and Richard Frisco, 55, of Republic were involved in an accident on Route 166 near Gates Road 8:15 p.m. Saturday. State police said Dasie M. Frisco, 46, a passenger in Frisco’s vehicle was transported to Uniontown Hospital with an injury.

Theft from car
State police in Greensburg said Jenny O’Hanlon of California and Kimberly Tober of Connellsville had money stolen from O’Hanlon’s unlocked car 2 a.m. Monday when it was parked in the Timber Ridge Golf Course parking lot.

Theft reported
State police said a palm pilot computer and $30 were stolen from a vehicle owned by Jeffrey Robert James, 37, of Uniontown Sept. 24 or 25 when it was parked along Dove Drive.

Charges filed
Connellsville police have filed charges against the following in unrelated incidents:
– Michael J. Hohol, 25, of 118 Stoney Road, Dunbar, for public drunkenness after he was allegedly found intoxicated Sept. 20 in the 500 block of West Crawford Avenue.
– Kevin D. Greenawalt Sr., 43, of 1150 S. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, for public drunkenness after he was allegedly found Sept. 20 intoxicated in the 100 block of Apple Street.
– William D. Wiltrout, 44, of 109 Atlas Ave., South Connellsville, for driving under the influence after he was allegedly found Sept. 21 to be operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
– Kenneth Newman, 38, of Connellsville, for public drunkenness after he was allegedly found Sept. 23 intoxicated along South Arch Street.
– Roy A. Crider, 25, of 341 E. Crawford Ave., Connellsville, for public drunkenness after he was allegedly found Sept. 22 intoxicated along North Meadow Lane.
– Todd M. Fetsco, 27, of 603 E. Gibson Ave., Connellsville, for public drunkenness after he was allegedly found Sept. 22 intoxicated along South 4th Street.

Mower taken
Jaimee M. Kenney of Connellsville told state police that a push lawn mower was taken from her Robinson Street porch between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Monday.

One-car accident
Daniel Pearce, 42, of Scenery Hill suffered a minor injury 11 p.m. Sunday when he failed to negotiate a turn on Dally Road and hit a dirt embankment, state police in Belle Vernon said. He was transported to Mon Valley Hospital. Roscoe Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the accident.

Bench removed
Pat Ann Mouser of Uniontown told state police that between Monday and Tuesday a white plastic lawn bench was stolen from her Easy Street backyard.

Vehicle damaged
Richard Kirik of Mount Pleasant told state police that his 2001 Ford Escape was damaged while parked in the Geibel High School parking lot on Sept. 6.
North Union Twp.
Two-vehicle accident
No injuries were reported when vehicles operated by Luke E. Hathaway of Rices Landing and Kara K. Villella of Connellsville collided at the intersection of Pittsburgh Street and Route 51 at 12:19 p.m. Monday.
