Resumes sought A New Jersey company preparing to move into the Fayette Business Park will begin to search for 15 employees this week, officials announced Tuesday.

Nancy Dean Burke, plant manager for Mypodiamond Inc., announced that people interested in the manufacturing-related jobs can submit resumes and applications at the Pennsylvania CareerLink office starting today. Burke said CareerLink officials will sift through the applications before submitting them to the company so that interviews can begin Oct. 21.

She said production workers, electricians, welders, lathe operators, lab technicians and general operators will be needed at the 10,000-square-foot site, currently under construction on the Georges Township park.

Mypodiamond, previously of Gibbstown, N.J., announced in July its intent to relocate its business to a four-acre site in the Fayette Business Park. The company is a Swiss-owned manufacturer of high-quality industrial diamond powders that are used for special applications in which very hard materials, such as ceramics, gemstones and electronic parts, must be polished very smoothly.

Burke said the most common use for industrial diamonds is to polish hard drives in personal computers. Mypodiamond is one of only a few manufacturers worldwide and the only U.S. manufacturer that produces the Mypolex polycrystalline diamond powder.

Burke said the company learned of sites available in Fayette County through a relationship it has with Dynamic Materials Corp. in Mount Braddock.

Those interested in submitting an application should contact CareerLink at 724-434-5627.
