BULLSKIN TWP. – A McClellandtown man charged with vehicular homicide waived the charges to Fayette County Court on Tuesday before his scheduled preliminary hearing. Torrie Jamal Wilson, 26, of 598C Belsar Lane, is charged with driving the vehicle that struck and killed Thomas W. Swank, 73, of Connellsville on April 16.

A passenger in the 1997 Ford truck, Dynisha Shantae Jones, 18, also of McClellandtown, was injured in the accident.

Police said Wilson failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Route 119 and Kingview Road and struck Swank’s 1995 Buick Century as he was traveling through the intersection.

Before giving information to police, Wilson left the scene with two unknown people and was not immediately identified as the person driving the truck.

In addition to homicide by vehicle, Wilson is charged with accident involving death or personal injury, accident involving death or personal injury while not licensed, accident by death involving damage to a vehicle or property and nine summary offenses related to the incident.

Wilson remains lodged in Fayette County Prison on $50,000 straight cash bond.
