WASHINGTON COUNTY FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION will hold a memorial service for all fallen firefighters at noon Sunday at the fire academy grounds, Route 519 North, just outside Houston. NEW BEGINNING CHURCH, 93 Jefferson St., Uniontown, will hold a flea market and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Clothing, household items and various baked goods will be available.

ST. THERESE ALTAR SOCIETY will not receive communion Sunday at the 9:30 a.m. Mass due to the 75th anniversary Mass on Saturday at 5 p.m. Pews will be reserved for members. The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Parish Center. Officers will be installed. The Queen of Peace Chapter of the Catholic CPW will be a guest at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday.

BROWNFIELD COMMUNITY CENTER, 291 Banning Road, Dawson, will hold a dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Menu will feature roast beef or pork, mashed potatoes, green beans, tossed salad, dessert, homemade bread and beverages. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12. A round and square dance will be held at the center on Oct. 12 from 8 to 11 p.m., sponsored by the BCC Senior Citizens. Tickets are $4 a person.

FAYETTE FRIENDS OF ANIMALS will hold a rabies clinic from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Tractor Supply Co., Uniontown Shopping Center, Morgantown Road. Dr. Curtis Geary is the veterinarian. Cost is $7. For more information, call 724-434-1422.

MARCH OF DIMES will hold its seventh annual Star Chefs Gourmet Auction on Oct. 14 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Pittsburgh/Southpointe. It begins at 6:15 p.m. with a cash bar and silent auction. Grand buffet tasting begins at 6:45 p.m. with chefs from southwestern Pennsylvania. Tickets are $45 a person. BROWNFIELD UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will hold a covered-dish dinner at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, to celebrate the new addition mortgage burning.

GLADYS REBEKAH LODGE will hold a chicken and biscuit supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the lodge hall, Main Street, Big Brownfield. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.25 for children. Take-out orders will be available.

PERRY TOWNSHIP VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT will hold a spaghetti dinner from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Meals are $6 for adults; $3 for children ages 4 to 12; and free for children 3 and younger. Take-out orders will be available. Patrons are to bring their own container. The Roman Star Ladies Lodge will prepare meals.
