Woman critical

A township woman was in critical condition in a Pittsburgh hospital Thursday suffering from smoke inhalation from a small electrical fire in her kitchen.

Nikki Bouras of Nelson Road was transported to Uniontown Hospital after the 2:36 a.m. fire and then flown to West Penn Hospital.

Farmington Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Eric Baker said the fire started at the stove, but it was already out when firefighters arrived.

When they got there, Bouras was on the porch being treated by ambulance personnel for smoke inhalation, Baker said. He said the fire was small and probably burned itself out. Smoke caused minimal damage to the kitchen.

“Upon arrival, the fire was out. Just a lot of smoke,” Baker said.

State police fire marshals are investigating, he said.
