Recycling event planned Exhibit to open
The Waynesburg College Benedum Fine Arts Center Gallery will feature “Erudition” by senior student Shanna Frost, beginning Monday and continuing through Friday, Oct. 25.
“Erudition” is a mixed-media exhibition that includes work created and perfected in the Waynesburg College Art Department for the past 41/2 years. Pieces on display include water color pictures, charcoal drawings, ceramic sculptures, pottery and a collage of photographs and newspaper clippings entitled “Flamingo Diner.”
“The show reveals my metamorphosis as an artist throughout my college years,” Frost said. “At this point, I am much more enriched as a person and able to appreciate the beauty of the world.”
Frost said she has loved art all her life, but when she enrolled at Waynesburg College, she chose elementary education because she always wanted to teach. Now she plans to combine both interests.
Frost will graduate in May 2003 with a dual major in elementary education and art.
The Benedum Fine Arts Center Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and other times by appointment. Admission to the gallery is free. An opening reception will be held for “Erudition” Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend and meet the artist, and light refreshments will be served.
