Helen Ruth Burnsworth Rugg McVay
Helen Ruth Burnsworth Rugg McVay, 83, of Mill Run, Pa., passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2002, at her home. She was born October 9, 1918, at her home in Maple Summit, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Clyde and Myrtle Burnworth Burnsworth.
Helen Ruth was a graduate of the former Ohiopyle High School where she recently celebrated their 65th class reunion with her five remaining living classmates.
She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
She was also a devoted Farmer all of her life and a member of Mill Run Grange.
Helen will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and members of her church!
She was predeceased by her parents, two husbands, Theodore Rugg Sr. and John McVay, her daughter, Rebecca and her husband Gene Miller, a granddaughter, Helen Yvonne Rugg, and a sister, Jessie Nicholson.
She is survived by nine children: Cora and her husband Gene Hoover of Latrobe, Pa., Theodore Rugg Jr. and his wife, Janice, of Connellsville, Pa., Clyde Curtis Rugg and his wife, Lee, of Wisconsin, Florence and her husband Edward Williams of Mill Run, Pa., John Rugg Sr. and his wife, Connie, of Mill Run, Charles Rugg and his wife, Rosemary, of Connellsville, Pa. Gradon Rugg and his wife, Susan, of Mill Run, Ralph Rugg and his wife, Melinda, of Hopwood, Pa., and Marlene Bente of Mill Run; 28 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters: Faye Ravenscraft of Farmington, Pa., Juanita Stonebreaker of Mount Pleasant, Pa., and Yvonne “Donnie” Capaldi of Doylestown, Pa.; and two brothers: Manuel Burnsworth and his wife, Betty, and Clyde Burnsworth and his wife, Analiss, all of Confluence, Pa.
Friends will be received in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 711, Melcroft, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held Tuesday, October 8, at 11 a.m. with Dan Helenek and Delmar Stockwell officiating.
Interment will follow in Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery, Mill Run.
