Verna L. Greenwood
Verna Loretta Greenwood, 88, of Nemacolin, Pa., died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, in Sundale Nursing Home of Morgantown, W.Va. She was born Jan. 26, 1914, in Oliver No. 3, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of the late Lewis C. Smitley and Eliza Jane Sillett Smitley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Greenwood, in 1983; two brothers, Fred and Bruce Smitley; and a sister, Viola Frederick.
She was a member of the Fairdale Free Methodist Church of Carmichaels, Pa.
Surviving are two sons, Edward J. Greenwood and wife, Patricia of Hockessin, Del., and Thomas D. Greenwood and wife, Susan of Pearisburg, Va.
Friends will be received in the PAUL M. LESAKO FUNERAL HOME INC., Carmichaels, Pa., on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, from noon to 1 p.m., the hour of service, in the funeral home, with the Rev. Lloyd Sickles officiating. Interment will be in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
