Car-truck collision injures one
One man was injured Monday when a car and tractor-trailer collided head on along Route 119, near the Everson exit. The unidentified man was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when the accident took place, according to emergency personnel at the scene.
The man was taken by helicopter to a Pittsburgh area hospital for treatment.
After the tractor-trailer struck the Ford Taurus, it overturned, spilling much of the gravel it was hauling onto the roadway.
A second truck avoided the collision and came to a stop in the median strip dividing the four-lane highway.
Traffic was rerouted to Richey Road for several hours to allow for the removal of the debris from the accident.
Connellsville Township, Everson and Fayette EMS fire and ambulance personnel responded to the accident.
