Uniontown Aggravated assault arrest
A 21-year-old Uniontown woman is facing aggravated assault and other charges for allegedly cutting a man in the face with a broken beer bottle in Storey Square at approximately 11:30 p.m. Sunday, city police said.
Stephanie D. Kiss of 38 Stewart Ave. is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person for the incident. She allegedly cut Russell Dwayne Pierce of Uniontown once from his ear to his chin and also on his throat.
Police said the incident began when both Kiss and Pierce were in the Oasis Bar and Pierce left carrying a beer bottle. Kiss allegedly came outside and harassed Pierce, who dropped the bottle and it broke.
Kiss allegedly picked up the bottle and began cutting Pierce. He was taken to Uniontown Hospital for treatment. Kiss was arraigned before District Justice Rick Vernon and placed in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bond. City police also discovered two state police warrants for Kiss. She was wanted on a forgery warrant and bond was set at $25,000. She also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 days for a disorderly conduct warrant.
Pierce received 12 stitches.

Guardrail struck
No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident on a legislative route at 2 a.m. Sunday, state police said.
A vehicle driven by Richard Biller, 22, of Connellsville was traveling on the road when he went around a bend, lost control and struck a guardrail. The vehicle sustained moderate damage.

Two-vehicle accident
One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Route 40 in front of the Uniontown Mall at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, state police said.
Vehicles driven by Jolene M. Darnell of Dunbar and Steve Winsler of Uniontown were involved in the accident. Darnell suffered minor injuries.

Simple assault
A Uniontown man was arrested for simple assault following an incident that occurred at a home at Surrey Hill at 2:44 a.m. Sunday. State police said Jason H. Lener allegedly struck Kandy K. Snipley during an argument.

Burglary
Photographs and a jar of money were taken from a home after it was broken into on Harmony Church Road at 9:20 p.m. Saturday, state police at Belle Vernon said.
The home was entered after a kitchen door window was smashed and the door was unlocked. After the theft, the burglars fled in a light blue van toward Fayette City. Police said the van had a broken passenger side window covered with plastic.
The owners are Gloria Condupa, 72, and Debbie Condupa, 39, both of Belle Vernon.

Traffic accident
No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident on Route 51 at 5:49 p.m. Friday, state police at Belle Vernon said. The drivers were Tamara Troup, 48, of Vanderbilt and Stanley Inoyk, 47, of Elizabeth.
Troup’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and Inoyk’s vehicle sustained minor damage.

Two cited
Harassment and criminal trespass citations were filed against two men following an incident on Birch Lane in Tower Hill 2 at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, state police at Belle Vernon said.
Glenn T. Settles, 42, of Allison allegedly assaulted Paul J. Chase, 32, and then Chase refused to leave the home.

Shed burglarized
Various items were taken from a shed after it was broken into on Mount Nebo Road in East Huntington Township between 11 p.m. Sept. 19 and 6 p.m. Sept. 20, state police at Greensburg said.
Taken were two quads, eight truck tires, a gasoline-powered leaf blower and a gasoline-powered weed cutter.
The owner is Michael Earl Tarasan, 45, of Scottdale.

Two-vehicle accident
No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident on South Mount Vernon Avenue at 3:15 p.m. Friday, city police said.
Vehicles driven by Ernest E. Monaco, 54, of Uniontown and Jerome Kukurugya, 56, of Uniontown were involved in the accident. Monaco’s vehicle sustained minor damage and Kukuragya’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed.

Three-vehicle accident
Three people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of West Main Street and Oakland Avenue at 5:11 p.m. Thursday, city police said.
Vehicles driven by Jaclyn Hatalowich, 22, of Perryopolis, Debra Klink, 47, of Hopwood and Mary Ann Carbonara, 55, of Uniontown were involved in the accident. Additional information was unavailable.

Charges pending
Charges are pending against a Uniontown man for an incident that occurred in the parking garage at 4:27 a.m. Monday, city police said.
The man, along with numerous juveniles, allegedly picked up items, including pumpkins, put them in a shopping cart and threw them over the edge. The individuals then allegedly got the cart impaled on the gate.

Joanne Myers of rear Lemon Street reported to city police at 1:08 p.m. Sunday that someone cut the license plate of her car and stole her registration sticker.

Vandalism reported
Mark Rafail reported to city police at 7:50 p.m. Sunday that the front door was kicked in and drywall was damaged at a building he owns on Madison Avenue.
Damage is estimated at $200.

Woman assaulted
City police are investigating an incident in which Margaret Kriek of Lemon Wood Acres was allegedly assaulted at a home on North Street beginning Thursday night.
Kriek told police someone known to her forced her to go to his North Street home at 11 p.m. Thursday and he allegedly kept her there and beat her.
She suffered bruising and swelling on her chin, jaw and bruises on both arms and a cut on her head.
Kriek also told police the man assaulted her at her home at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
She was taken to Uniontown Hospital for treatment. Charges are pending.

The rear window of a 1984 Ford Escort on Collins Avenue was broken with a brick sometime Saturday, city police said. The owner is Dana L. Poole.

An employee at the Exxon station on West Main Street reported to city police at 9:24 p.m. Saturday that a white male in a white Dodge Ram truck with a silver ladder rack drove off without paying for $42.67 in gasoline.

Man assaulted
City police said charges are pending against a man for allegedly punching Melvin Huff in the face and head on Stewart Avenue at 6:47 p.m. Saturday.
The men were arguing over $40, police said. Huff refused treatment.

Juvenile apprehended
A 14-year-old male was apprehended for attempting to elude police after he was discovered driving a vehicle at 4:40 p.m. Saturday, city police said.
The teen-ager drove at a high rate of speed until he stopped at Cleveland Avenue. The vehicle was towed and the boy was released to his mother.
Charges are pending through juvenile court.

City police are investigating an incident in which a vehicle owned by Loretta A. Jordan was struck on Lenox Street at 2:46 a.m. Sunday.

City police are investigating an incident that occurred on Coolspring Street at 6:53 a.m. Friday.
Rhonda Louise Mackey reported to police that someone known to her broke a window in her home and then punched her in the head and torso and pulled her across the street when she chased him.

Public drunkenness
Two Uniontown men were cited for public drunkenness in separate incidents between 9:26 and 10:07 p.m. Saturday, city police said.
Gary Nicklow was cited after he was discovered leaning on garbage cans on Morgantown Street.
Larry Frey was cited after he was discovered urinating on the side of the bank at the intersection of Church and South Beeson.

Bernerd Stanley Logan, 62, of Menallen Township told state police that his North Mill Street shed was entered between 6:30 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday and a variety of tools and other items were removed.

Vehicle taken, recovered
State police said that a 1993 Chevrolet Prism reported as missing from the residence of Michael McCahill, 35, of McClellandtown on Sept. 15 was recovered on Route 166 in Redstone Township later that night.

State police said that both Anthony Joseph Barati, 20, of Cardale and David Michael Barati, 22, of Cardale were cited with harassment for allegedly hitting each other during an argument on Sept. 28.

Daniel M. Jones, 23, of Republic told state police that he accidentally struck a mailbox with his vehicle while traveling west on Davidson Siding Road on Sept. 30.

Death investigation
State police reported that an investigation into the death of Harry Edwin Marks, 80, of Isabella revealed that he apparently suffered a heart attack as he sat in the Jacuzzi at the health center in the Hampton Inn at 2:40 p.m. Friday.

Dirt bike found
A yellow Yamaha dirt bike with a blue seat was found on a road behind the Coolspring baseball fields adjacent to the Coolspring-Jumonville Road at 7 p.m. Sept. 19. The owner must bring the proper ownership papers to the state police barracks in order to claim the bike.

Cumberland Township Police Chief William F. Lewis Sr. issued the following activity report for September in which officers responded to 108 calls with a breakdown being: one assault, two burglary alarms, three assist other police, five criminal mischief, six domestic disturbance, four domestic violence, two harassment, one missing person, eight motor vehicle accidents, 15 other calls, three information calls, 50 requests to speak to an officer, two suspicious persons, five thefts, and one traffic violation. Also during this time officers issued the following citations: one driving under the influence, four traffic violations and two trespassing.
