Georges Twp. Man robbed

Justin Michael McNemar, 20, of Smithfield told state police he was walking home Monday along Jacob Lutheran Road near High House Road when a car pulled up and three men began kicking him in the face and ribs. McNemar told police he was dragged near the vehicle and one of the assailants took money from his sock.

The vehicle in question is a black Pontiac with a blue pinstripe, and one of the suspects is more than 6 feet tall, weighing more than 200 pounds, has a double chin and had long blond hair underneath a baseball cap. McNemar could not describe the other two suspects, only recalling one of them had a large goatee.

Man charged

State police said Robert Russell Cuppett, 59, was charged with corruption of minors after he allegedly picked up a 14-year-old girl from school Sept. 30 and took her to different places, where she allegedly was given alcohol, cigarettes and marijuana before she was returned home Oct. 2. Police said Cuppett was placed in Fayette County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bond.

Four hurt in crash

State police said four people sustained minor injuries after drivers Loretta Stana, 60, of Ruffsdale and Ardith Rugg, 57, of Mill Run were involved in an accident Saturday at 1 p.m. along Route 40 at the entrance to Nemacolin Woodlands. Stana was not injured, but her two passengers, Mary Stana, 59, of Ruffsdale and Cynthia Gnave, 54, of Summit, N.J., had minor injuries. Rugg and her passenger, Kenneth Rugg, 61, also were injured in the accident, police said.

Two charged

State police said Richard Scott Blackstone of Connellsville was charged with harassment and Richard Lee Blackstone, also of Connellsville, was charged with disorderly conduct after an altercation with Mary Brinker of Indian Head at her Pritts Road property Wednesday evening.

Police said the charges were filed at the office of District Justice Robert Breakiron.

Store burglarized

State police said someone broke into the Dollar General store on Roberts Road between 9:20 p.m. Sept. 2 and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 3 and took more than $350 in cash from a rear office.

Vehicle stolen

Robert Miller, 56, of Uniontown told state police that someone stole his vehicle from the driveway of his Morgantown Road home between 10:30 p.m. Sept. 26 and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 27.

One-vehicle accident

State police said Eric Jefferies of Dunbar suffered a minor injury when he lost control of his vehicle Sunday and crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of School Road and River Road.

Man arrested

State police said they arrested Thomas Lowry of Dunbar for disorderly conduct after he continuously used obscene language and acted in an aggressive manner Friday at 2:30 a.m. during an investigation at 814 Dunbar-Ohiopyle Road.

Harassment

State police said Charlotte Haywood, 53, of Point Marion told them that someone made harassing and threatening phone calls to her Sept. 20 at 6:50 p.m. at 1155 University Drive.

West Bethlehem Twp.

Items stolen

John Sworcheck, 59, of 2021 Beallsville Road, Marianna, told state police in Washington that his two rockers and a foot stool were stolen from his rear porch Monday at 5:47 p.m. The items were valued at $450.

Man cited

State police said Richard Scott Blackstone of Connellsville was cited for possession of an open alcoholic beverage last Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Route 711 near the Indian Creek Valley Community Center.

Springfield Twp.

Women cited

Mary Brinker of Indian Head and Judith Blackstone of Connellsville were both cited for harassment by state police at a residence on Pritts Road, last Wednesday at 4:50 p.m. Police said they were engaged in a physical confrontation.

One-vehicle crash

State police said Craig E. Gibbs, 31, was traveling west on Second Street Monday at 4:30 p.m. when he struck a legally parked car, causing minor damage. Police said there were no injuries and Gibbs wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

Field damaged

Anthony Walker Mucha Sr. of Connellsville told state police that two juveniles known to him damaged his corn field on the west side of Route 119 Monday at 5:45 p.m.

Hit-and-run probed

Mary Roberts of Carmichaels told state police that someone struck her vehicle in the rear bumper in the Giant Eagle parking lot Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

DUI

According to state police, Sharon Smitley, 39, of Gans was arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol one mile north of the Point Marion Bridge Sunday at 8:15 p.m.

Vehicle struck

State police said a vehicle owned by David Reid of Carmichaels was struck by a vehicle owned by Willis Stilwell, 73, of Waynesburg in a parking lot along Route 21 Friday at 8:20 p.m. Neither vehicle was occupied at the time of the incident, police said.

Vehicle vandalized

Roger Ball, 33, of Waynesburg told state police that someone threw dirt on his vehicle as it was parked in front of 24 Grand View Drive Monday between noon and 3 p.m.

Vehicles collide

State police said no one was injured when vehicles operated by Theodore Smith, 74, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Linda Monica, 43, of Prosperity crashed at the intersection of Route 21 and Route 8005 Monday at 4:40 p.m.

Woman cited

State police cited Amanda Loar, 28, of Waynesburg for being under the influence of alcohol and shouting obscenities at the intersection of Dogwood and Hawthorne roads Thursday at 4:50 a.m.

Suspected forgery

According to state police, someone used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase drinks and received change at Koci’s Tavern Sept. 30 at 11:30 p.m. Police said the suspect is a bald white male in his 30s with a thin build.

Cocaine found

State police said store employees found a small vile of cocaine near the checkout aisle of the Save-a-Lot supermarket at the intersection of routes 19 and 21 Thursday at 11:30 a.m.

Medication stolen

Sheila Bloom, 55, of Perryopolis told state police that someone stole her prescription medication from her Route 4083 residence Monday at 1 p.m.

Window broken

Jeffrey Jacobs, 48, of Connellsville told state police that someone smashed the rear hatch window of his Ford Explorer with a rock as it was parked along Linden Hall Road Monday between 5:15 and 7:30 p.m.

Business burglarized

State police said a pool liner owned by A & M Pools on Route 21 was stolen from business property between Sept. 25 at 10 p.m. and Sept. 27 at 7 a.m.

Man charged

According to state police, Timothy Horvalt, 42, of Dilliner has been charged with harassment for allegedly striking Thomas Huggins, 41, also of Dillner, after an argument at Horvalt Auto along Route 2011 Friday at 6:54 p.m.

South Huntington Twp.

Vehicle recovered

State police said that a stolen vehicle owned by William Burbonus of Greensburg was recovered along Walts Mill Road Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Vehicles crash

According to state police, vehicles operated by Deanne Berryman of Waynesburg and Donna Ganley of Pittsburgh crashed along Interstate 79 Sept. 27 at 2:15 p.m.
