Thelma I. Deal
Thelma Irene Deal, 79, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, in Mount Macrina Manor. She was born May 16, 1923, in New Salem, Pa., daughter of the late Walter and Lillian Cooley Moore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Houston Deal.
She was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church of Uniontown, and the Grace Bible Class and the Ladies Sewing Group of the Church.
She was a member of Menallen Grange No. 1091 and Pomona Grange No. 49. She was a former employee of the White Swan Flower Shop with 26 years of service.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley German and her husband, Gary of Dollastown, Pa.; a son, Larry Deal and his wife, Sherry of Allentown, Pa.; four grandchildren, Greg German and his wife, Kim, Jennifer German and Meghan and Amanda Deal; two great-granddaughters, Kirsten and Adrienne German; the following sisters and brothers, Mildred Whitlock and her husband, Ray of Uniontown, Marge Whetzel and her husband, DeWayne of Jefferson, Pa., Edna Randolph of Upper Middletown, Pa., Oliver Moore of Willowick, Ohio, and Irvin Moore and his wife, Arlene of Uniontown, Pa.; an aunt, Ruth Weltner of Uniontown; and sisters-in-law, Norma Uphold and her husband, Darrell of Haddenville, Lois Shoaf and her husband, Mervin of Uniontown, and Bettie Deal of Georgia.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. William D. Rodahaver officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown. Menallen Grange No. 1091 will conduct services on Thursday at a time to be announced. The Grace Bible Class will conduct services in the funeral home at 2:30 p.m., on Thursday.
