Janet L. Swaney Goodwin, 69, of Fairchance, Pa., died Monday, October 7, 2002 at home. She was born March 2, 1933, in Smithfield, Pa., daughter of the late Henry G. Swaney and Hazel M. Fields Swaney.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Clayton (Buck) Ryan; two sons, Ricky Ryan and Randy Lavaun Ryan and one sister Bonnie Thompson.

Janet was a retired manager of the Smithfield Elementary School cafeteria where she worked for 22 years. She was a member of Fairchance Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are her husband Roy Dale Goodwin; one daughter, Rhonda Finn and her husband Mick of Morgantown, W.Va.; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Ryan of Collier, Pa.; one sister, Anna Louise Miller and her husband Donald of Smithfield, Pa.; one brother Carl (Tack) Swaney and his wife Joanne of Lake Placid, Florida and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church St., Fairchance, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Rory O. Ruder officiating.

Entombment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
