Charles W. Rohol
Charles W. Rohol, 74, of 112 Rohol Street, Martin, Pa., died Saturday, October 12, 2002, in his home. He was born August 31, 1928, in Gates, Fayette County, Pa., son of Peter Rohol and Mary Zevnik Rohol.
For 31 years he worked as a Coal Miner for Consolidation Coal Company’s Osage Mine in Osage, West Virginia.
Charles graduated in the Class of 1947 from Masontown (Pa.) High School.
He served his county in the Korean War as a Corporal in the United States Army.
He was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church in Masontown, Pa., United Mine Workers of America Local 6321, and Masontown American Legion Post 423.
On January 11, 1951, in Maryland he married Dorothy Arndt Rohol, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Linda S. Rohol; a son, Peter “Mickey” Rohol; sisters: Anne “Ainka” Gluvna and Mrs. Joseph (Betty) Stoffa both of Masontown, Pa.; two uncles: Charles B. Rohol of Savage, Maryland, and John Zevnik of Masontown, Pa.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His parents and a brother, Peter “Junior” Rohol, preceded him in death.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and River avenues, Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, October 15, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in All Saints Roman Catholic Church, West Church Street, Masontown, with Rev. Fr. James F. Bump as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Leckrone, Pa., where Military Honors will be accorded by V.F.W. Post 4564 and American Legion Post 423 both of Masontown.
