Justin Sheba and Rachel A. Fasson, who are both Fayette County residents, recently were awarded the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Sheba, son of Ronald and Patricia Sheba of Uniontown, earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Pennsylvania State University in 1998.

Fasson, daughter of Richard and Andra Fasson of Connellsville, earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry/French from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington in 1998.

At this year’s ceremony, 248 students received their D.O. degrees.

For more than a century, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine has trained osteopathic physicians, doctors who practice a “whole person” approach to medicine.

Nearly 70 percent of the college’s students are from Pennsylvania.
