Beatrice Marx
Beatrice Alexander Marx died peacefully and with her family at her bedside on Oct. 9, 2002, after a courageous battle against cancer. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Alexander, formerly of O’Connell Avenue.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; her mother, Antoinette Alexander; her son, James Redner; her daughters, Diana Jeffries and husband, Dave and Mini Prevatt and husband, Myron; her stepchildren, Michael Marx Jr., and Michele Orosz; her brothers, Donald and Raymond Alexander; and her grandchildren, Kendall, Matthew and Kathryn Jeffries. She also leaves many family members in Pennsylvania and Virginia.
Beatrice “Bea” Marx was a beloved music teacher at St. Jerome Catholic School in Ft. Lauderdale, for 26 years, during which time she enriched the lives of countless children and parishioners.
A lovely mass and services were held in St. Jerome Catholic Church in Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, with family from Florida, Maryland and California, and with many friends present. Interment will be in the mausoleum at Sylvan Heights Cemetery in Uniontown. A prayer service for family members will be held at the mausoleum at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 19, with a reception after.
