Health fair set Meadow Heights Apartments is inviting the community to attend a health and human services fair and open house today from 1 to 3 p.m. in its building on 144 North Beeson Ave., Uniontown.

The health and human services fair and open house is free and open to the public. Snacks and refreshments will be available.

FCCAA officials said they developed Meadow Heights Apartments in order to meet the increasing demand for affordable and accessible housing for older adults in southwestern Pennsylvania. For more information, call 724-438-3089.

Parade plans finalized

Final plans have been announced for the 65th annual Halloween Parade to be held on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

This year’s parade is being co-sponsored by VFW Post 47 and radio stations, Froggy & Pickle.

The parade will form in the parking lot at Gallatin Avenue and Penn Street at 5:15 p.m. The bands will form up from East Penn Street to the courthouse. Mummers and small floats will form in the parking lot. They will move south on Gallatin Avenue turn West on Main Street to the VFW Post 47 Hall where judging will take place with the awarding of cash prizes in all age groups including overall best costume and inside floats.

All mummers will receive tickets for two cash drawings.

Bands participating in the parade include Uniontown Senior High, Laurel Highlands Junior High, Lafayette Junior High, Brownsville Senior High, Ben Franklin Junior High, Laurel Highlands Senior High and VFW Post 47 National Band.

Mummers and floats will be added between bands. Judges include Mayor James Sileo, Acting Fire Chief Myron Nypaver, Police Chief Kyle Sneddon, VFW Post 47 Past Auxiliary President Jean Stefancin and Veronica Hanyo. Outside floats will be judged. They form on Peter Street, rear of State Theatre.

Political advertising and participation is not permitted. Parade Marshall is Lou Giachttti. There is no raid date. For more information call Richard Brinza, quartermaster, at 724-437-2251.
