Matilda Niemczyk
Matilda “Tilly” Niemczyk, 82, of Bobtown, Pa., died unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at home. She was born March 11, 1920, near Latrobe, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Muzar Niemczyk.
Matilda was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in Bobtown, and a member and past president of the Rosary Altar Society.
A 1940 graduate of Point Marion High School, she formerly worked as a clerk in the company store in Bobtown, and later retired from Houze Glass Corporation, in Point Marion. in her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and was well known in Bobtown, for her seamstress skills.
Tilly is survived by her brother, Thaddeus Niemczyk of Bobtown, and by a number of friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, in infancy, Steve and John Niemczyk.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday until 9:15 a.m., when a prayer service will be held. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., in St. Ignatius R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. Lawrence V. Holpp as celebrant. Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion. Parish Vigil Service will be held this evening in the funeral home.
