James A. Baer Sr.

James A. Baer Sr., 77, of Menallen Township, Uniontown, Pa., died suddenly on Friday, October 18, 2002, at the Uniontown Hospital. He was born on March 8, 1925, in Helen, Pa., a son of Allen and Mary (Minerd) Baer.

Mr. Baer was a very kindhearted man, a wonderful Husband and Father, and proud Grandfather.

He retired from the Uniontown Area School District after 12 years in the Custodial Department and prior to that had been a Truck Driver for 36 years.

He was an avid sportsman and loved cars and gardening.

His parents and a brother, Harry Baer, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Eleanor L. (McKulka) Baer; five children: Carol Shimek and husband, James, of New Salem, Pa., Sharon Rouse and husband, Randy, of Smock, Pa., Mary Casserly and husband, David, of Uniontown, Pa., James Baer Jr. and wife, Patty, of Finleyville, Pa., and Thomas Baer at home; four grandchildren: Crystal Baer, Laurie Shimek, Katie Shimek, and Steven Casserly; three brothers: Francis Baer of Balsinger, Pa., Robert Baer of Liverpool, Ohio, and Roy Baer of Beaver, Pa; two sisters: Virginia Staff of Brownsville, Pa., and Emma Yeager of Chula Vista, California; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, October 21, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Galen E. Winebrenner officiating.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
