Ruth Moore Weltner
Ruth L. Moore Weltner, 96, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Thursday, October 17, 2002, at her residence in The Marquis House.
She was born February 10, 1906, in New Salem, Pa., the daughter of the late Frank and Lillie (Cropp) Moore.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Weltner (1984), a daughter, Jean Carolina Hayden (1983), brothers, Walter and Orton Moore, and a sister, Sarah Brown.
Ruth was a member of Third Presbyterian Church, Christian Fellowship Class and Circle Club. She was also a member of Uniontown Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 263 and Menallen Grange.
She was a graduate of Uniontown High School Class of 1923 and was an avid knitter who also did crocheting, tatting, needlepoint, quilting and embroidery.
She is survived by two sons: R. Dale Weltner and wife, Peggy of Pinehurst, North Carolina, and Warren W. Weltner and wife, Mary Lou, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; and many friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where Friends will be received today from Noon to 2 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Visitation will continue at Third Presbyterian Church, Union Street, Uniontown, on Monday, October 21, from 10 until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. William D. Rodahaver officiating.
Interment will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, McClellandtown, Pa.
Uniontown Chapter No. 263 Order of the Eastern Star will hold Services in the Funeral Home this evening at 7 p.m.
