Joseph G. Weaver

Joseph Gans Weaver, 85, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., died Saturday at NHC of Murfreesboro. A native of Uniontown, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph and Cora Ellen Newcomer Weaver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepbrothers, Raymond and Harry Weaver; and a brother, William Weaver.

Surviving are his wife, Thelma Baird Weaver; daughters, Betty Kenny of Elida, Ohio, Thelma Engelman of Murfreesboro, Jo Ann Roger of Murfreesboro, Ruth Brewer of Lavergne, Sara Stockton of Smyrna and Jackie Boggess of Murfreesboro; a sister, Mary Louise Weaver Hayden of Greencastle, Pa.; grandchildren, Jermey and Jason Rogers, Jake Russell, Michael and Jennifer Kenny, Austin, Brandon and Matthew Stockton and Cassie and Rachel Brewer; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Edith Dorazio of Uniontown, Pa.

Mr. Weaver was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church.

He was a retired Chief Master Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, and served in World War II, the Vietnam Conflict, and the Korean Conflict.

Visitation will be held today from 4 to 8 p.m., in the WOODFIN CHAPEL, Smyrna. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m., with Dr. Kenneth Hubbard officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
