Charles W. “Charlie” Mays

Charles W. “Charlie” Mays, 59, of West Chestnut St., Orrville, Ohio, died early Monday morning, October 21, 2002, at his residence following a one -year illness. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict and enjoyed working as a truck driver for the Quality Castings Company in Orrville from 1966 to the present.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 68 in Wooster and enjoyed antique cars and his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife Thelma J. Schartiger Mays are three daughters Bonnie and husband Larry Finkenbinder of Orrville, Charline and husband Michael Murray of Wooster and Tonya and husband Bill Yoho of Orrville; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; his father Wallace Mays; three brothers Wallace and wife Judy Mays, Jr., Donald and wife Carol Mays and Lawrence and wife Mary Mays; two sisters, Shirley and husband Doy Cottrell and Brenda and husband Rob Lowman, all of Point Marion, Pa. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Auble Funeral Home in Orrville or one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
