Suspect sought
Fayette County Crime Stoppers and the Connellsville Police Department are asking for help in the investigation into the Jan. 27, 2001, death of Curtis Haith.
Connellsville police responded to a call at 917 Sycamore St. at 4:51 a.m. and found Haith, 22, lying outside the apartment building with injuries that resulted in his death.
The investigation began that day and continues today as dozens of people have been interviewed and numerous leads have been followed.
However, nobody has been arrested and police said they need help with the case.
Connellsville police ask anybody with information about the case to call them at 724-628-2501 (ext. 110).
People with information can also call the Fayette Crime Stoppers at 724-437-TIPS or 877-834-TIPS. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person who committed the crime.

Robbery investigation
State police in Belle Vernon are investigating an armed robbery at Tiernan Trucking on Francis Road 8 p.m. Monday when two unknown suspects, whose faces were covered with bandanas, brandished handguns and threatened to shoot William Breakiron, 44, of Belle Vernon unless he gave them his money.
One suspect struck him in the forehead causing minor injuries and took his wallet containing about $300.
Uniontown
Apartment vandalized
City police said somebody broke into a 35 Lawn Ave. apartment, covered bathroom walls with paint and graffiti, destroyed the living room carpet with acid and stole some jewelry.
Robert Holt discovered the damage to his apartment Tuesday, but told police he didn’t know when the break-in occurred because he is in the process of moving out and the apartment was vacant.

Three-vehicle accident
State police in Uniontown said Glen R. Helman, 60, of Lisbon, Ohio, who was driving an International truck, Margaret H. Kokosh, 48, of Scottdale and Charles E. Rummel Sr., 54, of Lemont Furnace were involved in an accident at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday on southbound Route 119 at West Blake Avenue. Kokosh and her passenger Dylan Chiarmonte, 9, suffered minor injuries.

One-vehicle accident
State police said Abbey Kostora of Masontown suffered minor injuries in a 5 a.m. Saturday accident in which she failed to negotiate a right curve while traveling south on Route 857 and hit the left-side guiderail. Her vehicle was severely damaged.

Theft reported
State police said somebody stole $140 in roofing shingles from the yard of Todd A Harris, 38, of Spring Street between 7:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Oct. 11.
Dawson
Truck vandalized
State police said somebody cut a tire and scratched a 1999 Ford Ranger owned by Paul Jason Allshouse, 22, at his 112 A Railroad Street home between 7 p.m. Monday and 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.
South Huntingdon Twp.
Building vandalized
State police in Belle Vernon said somebody broke into and vandalized the concession building at the Yukon Lions Club ball field Oct. 14 or 15. Police ask anybody with information about the incident to call the station at 724-929-6262.
Uniontown
Theft reported
City police said Dorothy L. Montgomery reported the theft of $241 from her purse in her South Mount Vernon avenue home 11 p.m. Tuesday. She told police that she thinks a recent visitor took the cash.

Car crash
Ralph Edwards Vance, 19, of Smithfield struck a deer at 3:14 a.m. Wednesday, said state police. The car crash occurred on Route 119, one mile north of Walnut Hill Road, said police. Vance was wearing a seatbelt at the time, and he was not injured, said police.

Damaged license plate
Someone tried to remove a Pennsylvania registration plate off a vehicle belonging to Tamie Burnsworth of Connellsville, said state police. The incident occurred between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at 806 E. Linden Ave., Connellsville, said state police.

Go-cart stolen
A go-cart was stolen from an unlocked shed belonging to Michael Henry, 31, of Connellsville between Oct. 1 and Oct. 21, said state police.

Minor injuries
Mary J. Sethman, of Belle Vernon suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 70, said state police. The driver of the other vehicle was Horace Wilson Jr. of East Orange, N.J. He was not injured, and his vehicle did not require towing, said police. Sethman’s vehicle was severely damaged and did require towing, said police.

Court order violated
William Henry Martin of Acme was arraigned on $15,000 unsecured bond at District Justice Michael Rubish’s office for allegedly violating a protection from abuse order, according to state police.
