BROWNSVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHARGE announces in commemoration of Reformation Sunday, the Rev. Paul E. Wilson Sr. will speak on “Making Our Ancestors Our Contemporaries’ at Sunday worship at 8:30 a.m. at West Bend, 10 a.m. at South Brownsville and 11 a.m. at Brownsville First. At 7 p.m. Sunday, Gene Nemis will present a gospel concert at First Church.

CALVARY CHAPEL, FREDERICKTOWN, located on Route 88 and Moose Hill, next to The Butcher Shop, announces Love Your Neighbor will distribute coats to anyone in need on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The coats are sizes infant to adult and are free of charge. In addition, the regular distribution of free children’s clothing and furniture will be held. There will be a limited amount of bread and dry goods available as well. CANAAN BAPTIST CHURCH will host Hallelujah Night on Friday, Nov. 1. There will be games and food. No costumes are necessary but welcome. Participants, however, should not wear costumes that depict ghosts, vampires or ghoulish, bloody figures. There will be prizes awarded to the winners of games as well as special gifts given out by the pastor and the congregation. This is the sixth annual Hallelujah Night and it is open to the community.

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST BYZANTINE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 185 E. Main St., Uniontown, will hold its 21st annual Carpatho-Rusyn Celebration on Sunday in the church social hall. The Saturday Divine Liturgy at 5:30 p.m. will include a blessing service for the festival workers and for the success of the event. Sunday Divine Liturgies are at 9 and 11:15 a.m. Festivities will begin at noon and continue through 7 p.m. There will be cultural as well as spiritual aspects of the day.

UNIONTOWN CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST, 55 Butler St., reports the Mother’s Board is announcing the celebration of the first pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Allen Johnson and Evangelist Luann Johnson. Today, Elder Albert Stinson of Christ Temple Church of God in Christ in Library will appear while tomorrow, the Rev. Terry Davis of Newness of Life in Monessen will speak. The celebration will conclude Saturday with a banquet in their honor held at the Flamingo Restaurant at 6 p.m.

UNIONTOWN FREE METHODIST CHURCH, 300 Evans St., located at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Evans Street one block from the B.J. Mundel furniture store on Uniontown’s East End, is holding a T.G.I.F. ST. OLIVER PLUNKETT PARISH, ST. MICHAEL ARCHANGEL CHURCH IN FREDERICKTOWN will hold a charismatic Mass on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. with the River of Life Prayer Group. The Rev. Dec. 2-9, a tour to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be held. Participants will also visit the Pyramids, Floating Gardens and other historical and religious sites.
