A.J. Stewart, 9, of Lake Lynn will be staging a fundraiser Saturday at the Route 7 MX Park (Bike Barn) in Morgantown.
Stewart will be riding laps at the park to raise money in the fight against multiple sclerosis. His uncle, Jeff Groover of Dilliner has the disease. He’s accepting donations based on how many laps he rides. He’s expected to ride 40 laps.
Despite his young age, Stewart is an accomplished dirt bike racer, recently finishing third in points for the Lightning Valley Promotions Series. This series includes local tracks located in Markleysburg, Reedsville, W.Va., and Oakland, Md.
Steward said he’s raised $2,000 thus far and thanks everyone who has made a donation. Anyone wishing to send donation may do so by sending a contribution to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Allegheny District Chapter 1040 Fifth Ave Pittsburgh, Pa 15219. This chapter serves 15 counties including Fayette County.
