Harold A. Bell Sr.

Harold A. “Pete” Bell Sr., 94, of (Brownfield), Uniontown, Pa., died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, in Residence, with his loving family by his side. He was born March 4, 1908, in Brownfield, Pa., son of the late Thomas Melvin Bell and Sarah Feather Bell.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Muriel Devan Bell; a grandson, Mark A. Brewer; and three brothers and four sisters. He was the last surviving member of his parent’s family.

Harold was a member of the Brownfield United Methodist Church.

He was employed as a Carpenter for 50 years until his retirement and was a member of Carpenters’ Union Local No. 1010.

Surviving are his four children, Irma Jean Brewer and husband, Neville Brewer of Brownfield, Pa., Jack W. Bell and wife, Mary E. Bell of Gilbertsville, Pa., Gerald Bell and wife, Phyllis Bell of Brownfield, Pa., and Harold A. Bell Jr., of Centerville, Va.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church St., Fairchance, Pa., today until 1 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. M. L. Stringfellow officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brownfield United Methodist Church, PO Box 17, Brownfield, PA 15416.
