Richard O. Hixenbaugh, 73, of Uniondale, Long Island, New York, and formerly of Lake Lynn, Pa., who was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, died Monday, August 26, 2002, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Louise Maddalena Hixenbaugh; children: Richard Hixenbaugh of Georgia, Diana Suttles of North Carolina, Russell Hixenbaugh of Florida, Michael Hixenbaugh of Long Island, New York, Valarie Clark at home, Edward Clark of Florida, Maryann Spanopoulos and Cynthia Burgus both of Long Island, New York; 17 grandchildren; brothers: James Hixenbaugh of Dillsburg, Pa., and Donald Hixenbaugh of Akron, Ohio; sisters: his twin, Sylvia Hixenbaugh Mankins of Lake Lynn, Pa., Gladys Spacht of Monroeville, Pa., and Doris Victor of Route 4 Morgantown, West Virginia; his former wife, Joyce Hixenbaugh of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services and burial were held in Calverton National Cemetery, Long Island, New York.
