Robert G. Stewart
Robert G. Stewart, age 69, of Vanderbilt, Pa., died Monday, September 2, 2002, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born January 22, 1933, in Flatwoods, Pa., son of Frank Stewart and Lydia Kirkpatrick Stewart.
He worked at both Anchor Hocking in South Connellsville, Pa., and Corning Glass in Charleroi, Pa.
Robert served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and received two Bronze Star and one Combat Infantry Badge.
He was a member of V.F.W. Post 47 in Uniontown, Pa.
Three brothers, Leslie, John Ray, and Wilbur “Buzz” Stewart, a beloved grandson, Joey Marcinek, and parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Virginia Kohrman Stewart; three daughters: Mrs. Patrick (Deborah) McConville and Ms. Peggy Marcinek both of Vanderbilt, Pa., and Mrs. Roger (Robin) Poling of Perryopolis, Pa.; one son, James Stewart and wife, Anna Marie, of Greensburg, Pa.; nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter; one sister, Mrs. Ed (Betty) Rosinski of Perryopolis, Pa.; six brothers: Carl Stewart and wife, Dolly, of Mount Pleasant, Pa., George Stewart of Vanderbilt, Pa., James Stewart of Waltersburg, Pa., Joseph Stewart and wife, Sandy, of Vanderbilt, Ellis Stewart and wife, Pat, of Smock, Pa., and Newton Stewart and wife, Donna, of Vanderbilt.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, September 5, until 10 a.m. when A Blessing Service will be held with Rev. Father John T. Euker officiating.
Interment will follow in Bowman-Flatwoods Cemetery, Vanderbilt, where Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Army.
