OPEN DOORS FOR THE HANDICAPPED will hold the annual picnic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hutchinson Sportsmen’s Club. Members are to bring $3 and a dessert. Entertainment will be provided. For transportation, call 724-437-8888. FARMINGTON BETHEL CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN will hold hot roast beef sandwich dinners Saturday beginning at 11 .m. Dinners are $5.50 for adults and $3 for children. A bake sale and cookbooks will be available.
HAPPY HELEN’S CLUB will meet at noon Tuesday in the social hall of St. Joseph Church. Members are to bring a covered dish for a dinner being held in observance of the club’s 15th anniversary.
MON VALLEY BRANCH NAACP will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the fourth floor meeting room A of the Mon Valley Health Center, Eastgate 8, Monessen. Selection of a nominating committee will be held.
AMVETS POST 103 LADIES AUXILIARY will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the post home, Hopwood. Membership dues of $14 are now being accepted for 2003.
COWPIE BINGO for Multiple Sclerosis is being held on Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. at Bailey Park, behind Uniontown Firemen’s Social Hall, Dunbar Street. Tickets are available by calling 724-439-6016. Refreshments will be sold. A craft sale and flea market will also be held. Anyone interested in selling items may call to reserve a table. Uniontown Volunteer Fire Department and the Sapp family are sponsoring the event. All proceeds benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

SMOCK VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT Ladies Auxiliary will hold a grocery bingo at 3 p.m. Sunday at the social hall.
FLATWOODS COMMUNITY PICNIC will be held Sunday at Curfew Recreation Center. Registration begins at noon. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. Music, games and prizes will be featured. Those attending are to bring a covered dish.
CATHOLIC BPW, Queen of Peace Chapter, will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday for dinner at Herring’s Restaurant, Hopwood. Meeting will follow the dinner.
