Emil Burncheck
Emil Burncheck, 82, of Ontario, California, and formerly of West Leisenring, Pa., died Sunday, September 1, 2002, in Reche Canyon Rehabilitation Center, Colton, California. He was born May 9, 1920, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Mike Burncheck and Anna Vukasovic Burncheck.
Mr. Burncheck was an Ontario, California, resident for the past 50 years and was retired from Sunkist Growers. Prior to retirement he had also been employed with Kaiser Steel in California and also as a Coal Miner in Pennsylvania.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army who served in World War II in the Military Police while serving his country.
Four our brothers, Nick, John, Mike and George Burncheck, and parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Burncheck is survived by his sister, Mary Sweda of Uniontown, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Burncheck of Ontario, California; nieces: Donna Greenwald and husband, Fred, of Alta Loma, California, and Mary Greksa of Fontana, California; and 13 other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday, September 9, from 8 to 9:15 a.m. when a Panachida Service will be held.
Divine Liturgy follows at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church, West Crawford Avenue, Connellsville, Pa., with Rev. Fr. Joseph Kapusnak as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded by North Union VFW Post 8543 and Uniontown American Legion Post 51.
