Ray D. Kunkle
Ray D. Kunkle, 75, of Tarrs, Pa., retired Heavy Equipment Operator for Operating Engineers Union Local 66, former owner of Kunkle’s Telephone Answering Service, United States Army Veteran who served during World War II, who had been a student at the former Youngwood High School and was born in Youngwood, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 6, 2002, from his residence. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Evelyn M. Simpson Kunkle; nine children: David E. Kunkle and wife, Geraldine, of Fort Worth, Texas, Raymond P. Kunkle and wife, Linda, of Mount Pleasant, Pa., Charles C. Kunkle and fiancee, Tammy, of Scottdale, Pa., Darlene Kunkle Bitner and husband, Barry Bitner, of Tarrs, Barbara Kunkle Tickle of Export, Pa., Debra Kunkle of Latrobe, Pa., Carol Kunkle Yurko and husband, Joe Yurko, of Hampton, Virginia, Linda Kunkle Kintigh and husband, Thomas Kintigh, of Hunker, Pa., and Cathy Kunkle Biller and husband, Eugene Biller, of Ruffsdale, Pa.; a brother, Oliver Kunkle of Latrobe, Pa.; sisters: Ruth Kunkle Prinkey, Sue Kunkle Springer and husband, Thomas Springer, Cora Kunkle Moriarty and husband Howard Moriarty, all of Scottdale, Pa., and Jane Kunkle Garris and husband, John Garris, of Mount Pleasant, Pa.; and 17 grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Eugene G. Saloom Funeral Home Inc., 730 West Main Street, Mount Pleasant, Pa., today from Noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Visitation continues in Mount Pleasant Church of God on Monday, September 9, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
