Edgar R. Frantz
Edgar R. Frantz, age 85, of Hopwood, Pa., passed away Friday, September 6, 2002, in King’s Personal Care Home. He was born June 22, 1917, on Mae West Road, Fayette County, Pa., son of Charles O. Frantz and Bertha Diehl Frantz.
Mr. Frantz was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Uniontown where he taught Children’s Church and Sunday School.
He was South Union Supervisor for 18 years and was President of the PTA for South Union School.
He was the Dog Law Enforcement Officer for the state of Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Schnatterly Frantz, a brother, Emerson Frantz, and parents.
Surviving are children: Dale Frantz and wife, Mary Lou, with whom he made his home for ten years, and Ted Frantz and wife, Elaine, all of Uniontown, Pa., Don Frantz and wife, Kay, of Mechanicsville, Maryland; grandchildren: Kenneth Frantz and wife Cristy, Sarah Frantz and Erica Frantz all of Uniontown, Katie Weaks and husband Kelly and Gary Frantz all of Mechanicsville, Maryland; brothers: Charles Frantz and wife, Dorothy, of Hopwood, and Ted Frantz and wife, Barbara, of Mount Lebanon, Pa.; and a great grandson, Michael Weaks; and a sister-in-law, Jean Frantz of Uniontown.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, 1189 National Pike, Hopwood, Pa., today from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Paul N. Frank officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
