Batteries stolen
State police said two batteries were vandalized and another two stolen from a bulldozer owned by Haines Construction Co. parked along Gates Road between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 7:10 a.m. Wednesday.

Mirror damaged
Shanae Hodge, 21, of Uniontown told state police that someone damaged the driver’s side mirror of her vehicle at Tuskeegee Terrace at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Woman cited
State police said Natalie Thompson, 39, of Fairbank was cited for allegedly slapping Tammy Watson, 28, of Republic at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at 2016 Main St.

Cars collide
According to state police, vehicles operated by Melvin Lovas of Hibbs and Michael Lobash of Brownsville collided along Route 40 Aug. 31 at 12:18 p.m. Lobash was airlifted to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center with severe injuries, police said.
Fairchance
Man struck
State police said Timothy Boskovich allegedly was struck in the chest by another man at Kloc’s Inn along Georges/Fairchance Road at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 9.

Window smashed
According to state police, someone smashed the driver’s side window of a vehicle at MC’s Auto Sales along Connellsville Street between 8:45 a.m. Tuesday and 11:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Redstone Twp.
Tires slashed
State police said Jesse Parker, 31, of Brownsville was cited for allegedly slashing five tires on a truck owned by James Burnham, 54, of Cardale at Hunter’s Ridge Apartments on Thursday.
Fayette County
Report released
Fayette County Sheriff Gary D. Brownfield submitted the following statistical report for August. The sheriff’s office received 437 requests for service. The office handled 69 complaints and summons, 44 protection from abuse cases and 30 complaints of mortgage foreclosure. It processed 44 orders for possession from landlords and tenants, 28 foreign writ services, 17 personal property executions and two writs of possession. The office also processed 194 requests for new and renewed gun permits. In addition, the office served eight bench warrants, transported 41 prisoners a total of 3,111 miles and spent 176 hours on courthouse security, 176 hours on 911 center security, 57 hours on miscellaneous security and 140 hours on community relations programs.
The department also forwarded $16,364.08 in funds to Fayette County and listed $10,550.84 in funds for services not reimbursed to the county.

State police report
State police at Washington released the following criminal activity for the month of August: 1,279 offenses reported, 1,272 founded offenses, 709 offenses cleared, 715 criminal arrests, 30 arson investigations, 39 recovered vehicles and $206,182 worth of recovered property, including vehicles. Police released the following patrol activity: 634 accidents, 68 hit and run accidents, 7 fatalities, 202 injured, 3,389 traffic citations, 3,265 warning notices, 145 DUI arrests, 514 motorist assists and 3,519 other incidents for a total of 5,946 incidents.

Monthly report
California Borough police released the following report for August. Calls for service included 25 escorts, 17 motorist assists, seven domestic reports, five alarm activation and one towed vehicle a for a total of 377 calls for service and 5,235 miles patrolled. Police reported two simple assault arrests and one arrest for terroristic threats. Police issued 21 summary citations including, one each of criminal mischief and open container, two underage drinking, three each of public drunkenness and grass and weeds and eight for disorderly conduct.
Parking violations included, one sidewalk, five each of blocking driveway and seeded area, six fire plug, 26 out of stall, 27 sweeper, 37 left wheel to the curb, 43 where prohibited and 70 private lot. Police booted one vehicle and distributed 226 parking and 715 meter tickets.
Police stopped 92 vehicles and filed 47 accident and traffic citations, including: one each of traffic control devices and bald tires, two expired registration, four accidents, seven driving under suspended license, eight stop sign and 22 speeding.
