Ruth Henrietta Buttermore, 85, of Scottdale RD 2 (East Huntingdon Township), passed away Saturday afternoon, September 14, 2002, in Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Maryland. Ruth grew up in Connellsville, Pa., where she graduated from Connellsville High School with the Class of 1934. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Scottdale, where she sang in the choir and was active with the Circle 4 Women’s Society.

Ruth is survived by her loving family; her three daughters, Nancy R. Madden and husband David of Jacksonville, Florida, Susan M. Horton and husband Douglas of Keedysville, Maryland and Elizabeth A. King of Scottdale, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Douglas Tzan, William Tzan, Carrie Nancy Horton, Zachery Horton, Jonathan Horton, Sean King, Jennifer Hughes and Christie Shrefler; a great granddaughter, Lilibeth Tzan; a brother Roger Gorsuch and wife Imogene of East Ridge, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, Pa. where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
