Timothy Allen Umbel
Timothy Allen Umbel, 20, of 401 Squire Fike Road, Friendsville, Maryland was dead on arrival at the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa., Sunday, September 15, 2002, from an accident at Nemacolin Woodlands. He was born February 16, 1982 at Meyersdale, Pa., son of Richard and Mary Ann (Kimble) Umbel, Friendsville, Md.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Quincy Umbel.
Mr. Umbel was a junior at Fairmont State College, Fairmont, W.Va., and was employed at Nemacolin Woodlands. He was a 2000 graduate of Northern Garrett High School, Accident, Md., where he served as class treasurer and participated in basketball, baseball and golf. Mr. Umbel was a member of the National Honor Society, Northern Lettermen’s Club and Electronics Club. He also was a member of Asher Glade Church of the Brethren.
Surviving besides his parents are his maternal grandparents Kenneth and Betty Kimble, Meyersdale, Pa.; paternal grandmother Mildred Umbel, Friendsville, Md.; two sisters Dawn Michelle Umbel, Cockeysville, Md. and Christina Marie Umbel, Richmond, Va.; Uncle Kenneth, Aunt Wanda and Uncle Paul Kimble, Meyersdale, Pa.; and six uncles and seven aunts from the Umbel family.
Friends will be received at the NEWMAN FUNERAL HOMES, P.A., 943 Second Avenue, Friendsville, Md., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the Asher Glade Church of the Brethren on Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ed Moore and Rev. Nevin Umbel officiating.
Interment will be in the Asher Glade Cemetery.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Keith Artice, Jeff Carr, Taylor Glotfelty, Russell Lawson, Tommy Simmons, David Wampler, P.J. Workman, Mark Wolf, Eric Umbel and Matt Umbel. Honorary pallbearers will be Phil Carr, Paul Edwards, Ron Opel and Jamie Workman.
