Man arrested

Fred Tate, 28, of 228 Lenox St., Uniontown, was arrested on charges of recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and simple assault after he allegedly pointed a handgun at a man during a fight in Pershing Court Monday, city police said.

Police said another man saw Tate driving recklessly past 38 Pershing Court at 5:10 p.m. while kids were outside playing and told Tate to slow down. Tate returned and the two men fought, but Tate drew a gun and fled, police said. He was arrested at his home where police allegedly recovered a .40-caliber semi-automatic gun. Tate was arraigned and committed to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $2,500 percentage bond.

Tools stolen

State police in Waynesburg said more than $6,300 in tools were stolen from a trailer at a home construction site along Route 88 Sept. 8 or 9. Someone cut a padlock on the trailer owned by Mason Dixon Custom Home Builders of Masontown and took a DeWalt air compressor, Ryobi miter saw, DeWalt chop saw, Mikita right angle drill, Bostich roof nailers, metal tool boxes and leather tool belts. Police ask anyone with information about the theft to call.

DUI charged

State police filed DUI charges against George Riley Jr. of Cumberland Village, Carmichaels, after he was arrested Sept. 2 at the Hilltop Trailer Park.

Charges filed

Charges of simple assault and harassment were filed against Shawn Opel of Carmichaels for allegedly grabbing Shirley Opel by the throat and slamming her off a wall and bruising her arm Sept. 9 in Cumberland Village, state police said.

Ambulance wrecked

State police said Christopher Ceccarelli, 23, of Belle Vernon swerved to avoid a deer on a state road while responding to an emergency in an EMS Southwest ambulance 2:10 a.m. Tuesday and hit a road sign. Ceccarelli suffered a minor injury and the ambulance had moderate damage. Passenger Todd Snyder, 24, of Rices Landing was not injured.

Vehicle arson

State police said a vehicle owned by Janet Lee Javosky of Bobtown was set on fire Sept. 10 along Bald Hill Church Road.

Hay arson

State police said someone set fire to two bales of hay owned by Jeremiah Allison of Garrison along Garrison Ridge Road 10 p.m. Sept. 7.

Man cited

Reed Christopher Bamberger of Sycamore was cited for criminal mischief for allegedly damaging aluminum siding on a West Union Hill Road home owned by Carmen June Chadwick of Washington Sept. 9, state police said.

Burglary reported

State police said someone broke into Greene Cove Bar and Grill owned by Thomas Morgan Boyle, 32, of Millsboro on Sept. 9 and took $1,500.

Two-vehicle accident

State police said Gary Pataski, 19, of Vestaburg and Christopher Toth, 47, of Clarksville were involved in an accident Sept. 10 on First Street in Mather. Toth complained of shoulder pain.

State police said a known male from Clarksville allegedly stole $25 from Rhonda Stohon’s home in Teagarden Homes Sept. 10.

Two vehicles collide

State police said Rachel Panek, 20, of Masontown and Edgar Greene, 42, of Greensboro were involved in an accident Sept. 10 at the intersection of routes 21 and Route 88. Greene had two passengers and no injuries were reported.

Woman cited

Amanda Loar, 28, of 120 Dogwood St., Waynesburg, was cited for disorderly conduct for shouting obscenities in public at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 10, state police said.

Mischief reported

State police said someone pushed over a soda vending machine in Chevy’s Auto Repair lot on a state road 11:45 p.m. Sept. 9.

Edward Robert Burrie, 21, of Mather, Matthew Ryan Stone, 19, of Carmichaels, Ryan E. Baker, 18, of Carmichaels, David Scott Hathaway, 23, of Carmichaels, Frank A. Bialko III, 18, of Nemacolin and John Jordan Jr., 23, of Nemacolin were cited for simple trespass after they were found at the Old Curry Home in Rolling Meadows Road 12:45 a.m. Sept. 3, state police said.

Two-vehicle accident

State police in Uniontown said Diana Ellis, 51, of Rices Landing and John Pletcher, 30, of Hopwood were involved in an accident on Route 119 in front of the Penn State Fayette campus 2:10 p.m. Monday. Ellis suffered a minor injury.

Accident reported

State police said Mary Ann Holp, 64, and John Ebert, 75, were involved in an accident 10:50 a.m. Sunday on Route 40. No injuries were reported.

Mischief reported

State police said someone cut and removed a chain that was blocking a road to a private camp along Brethren Summit Road between Sept. 11 and 15. Toni Briercheck, 62, of Chesapeake Bay, Md., owns the camp.

State police said a Sony mini-disc player and an East-Pack book bag with four college textbooks inside were stolen from a vehicle owned by Jonathan L. Schubert of Jefferson when it was parked in front of 1394 Jefferson Road Sept. 10.

State police said someone threw a large rock at a van owned by Christopher Pratt of Jefferson Sept. 10, damaging the windshield.

Edward Robert Burries, 21, of Mather, Aaron Vincent Nichols, 26, of Jefferson and Kristie Nicole Brichetti, 20, of Mather were cited for trespassing in Mather Park Pavilion after dark on Sept. 14, state police said.

State police said someone damaged a Magna crane excavator at 100 Jennings Ave. between Sept. 14 and 16.

PFA violated

David W. Whipkey, 34, of Waynesburg was arrested for violating a protection from abuse order after a confrontation with Diana L. Whipkey, 35, of Wind Ridge in the Giant Eagle on Sugar Run Road on Sept. 14, state police said.

State police said someone broke into the Jefferson home of James Glenn Goughennour and stole a yellow Honda 400EX with a white oversized gas tank Sept. 12.

Ryan M. Gross, 18, of Fredericktown was cited for criminal mischief and underage drinking and Michael Pachuta, 18, of New Concord, Ohio, was cited for underage drinking Sept. 12 for allegedly smashing mailboxes owned by Harold Wright and Jo Ann Cree of Jefferson, state police said.

A retail theft citation was filed against John Paul Lund, 27, of Carmichaels after he allegedly took two hoagies from All Star Express 12:55 a.m. Saturday, state police said.

State police said someone drove off from Toot N’ Scoot on East High Street without paying for $14.57 in gas Sept. 9.

State police said someone damaged a tree stand owned by Tab Alan Ferguson of Sycamore near the Sycamore post office Sept. 7 or 8.

Charge filed

A harassment citation was filed against Toney B. Hunnell, 18, of Greensboro for allegedly shoving a 15-year-old boy off of his bicycle 10 p.m. Saturday on Second Street, state police said.

A criminal mischief citation was filed against Anna Mae Temple, 30, for allegedly kicking a door and breaking a mirror on a car owned by Kevin Kent Kirby, 38, of Waynesburg 1 a.m. Sunday along Temple Ridge Road, state police said.

Windows broken

State police said all of the windows on a vehicle owned by Joseph Michael Kurincak, 20, of Carmichaels were broken Sept. 10 when he left it along Route 88 due to mechanical problems, state police said.

Man missing

State police reported that Ralph Shirey, 38, no address listed, was reported as having last been seen on his birthday, Aug. 24, in the Mount Pleasant area. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-832-3288.
