Elaine B. Speshock Stefanik

Elaine B. Speshock Stefanik, 77, of Orange Park, Florida, died peacefully at home on September 16, 2002. Elaine was born and raised on Oliver Street in Uniontown, Pa. She spent 74 years in the Uniontown area until she moved to her son’s home in Orange Park.

She was the daughter of the late George and Anna Harmon Speshock born on September 11, 1925.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four sisters, Margret Bero, Anne S. Ruby, Mary Simeone and Doris Berish; three brothers, George Speshock Jr., Martin “Nick” Speshock and Edward Speshock.

Surviving are her son James L. Stefanik and his wife Robin and two grandchildren, Richard E. McIntyre and Ian Stefanik all of Orange Park, Fla.; two brothers William Speshock of Michigan and Richard Speshock of Texas. Elaine also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves to mourn many dear lifelong friends in the Uniontown area.

Elaine was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Uniontown. She graduated from North Union High School in 1943 and was a member of the band. She attended Penn State University Fayette Campus. She was employed at various jobs, but mostly enjoyed caring for the old and children. She also loved animals especially cats of which she had many.

There will be no public viewing but everyone is invited to a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary’s R.C. Church, North Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Thursday, September 19, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Micah E. Kozoil as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Park Place Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.

Arrangements are under the direction of the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa.
