Joy L. Woods, 40, of Monessen, Pa., passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2002, in Monongahela Valley Hospital, Monongahela, Pa. She was born September 11, 1962, in Brownsville, Pa., daughter of Gloria Moore Hewitt of Monessen and the late Luther D. Moore Jr.

In addition to her father she was predeceased by one brother Luther D. Moore III.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, Gloria Hewitt, is her husband David Woods of Brownsville, Pa.; one daughter, Justine Woods of Monessen, Pa.; and the following brothers and sisters Sheena James and husband Roy and Juan Moore, all of Houston , Texas, Lucretia Wallace and husband Samuel of McKeesport, Pa., Melissa Tarver and husband Bylly and Derrick Moore, all of Monessen, Pa., Nicole Malloy of Washington D.C., Lori and Missy Thomas, both of Republic, Pa. and Robbie Williams of Daisytown, Pa.; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Friends will be received in the Union Baptist Church, McMahon St., Monessen, Pa. on Thursday, September 26, 2002 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of service.

Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Smock, Pa.

Arrangements are under the direction of the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 E. Main St., Uniontown, Pa.
