Indecent assault
State police in Uniontown said they are investigating a report that a 60-year-old man indecently assaulted an 11-year-old girl in Lemon Wood Acres between Nov. 23 and Dec. 24, 2001.

Woman injured
State police said that Elizabeth Newill, 22, of Mount Pleasant suffered a severe hand injury at 4:25 a.m. Sunday in an accident on Route 982, about a mile south of Route 31.
Police said she failed to negotiate a bend in the road, traveled onto the berm, hit a guiderail and slid across both lanes into an embankment. Her car rolled over two times before landing on its roof in the northbound lane. Police said her hand was trapped under the roof until police and Bullskin Township firefighters extricated her. She was treated at Frick Hospital.

Police pursuit
State police said a juvenile driver and an 18-year-old passenger, Derrick Bernard Maddox, suffered minor injuries after the juvenile driver led officers on a high-speed chase in a stolen car then hit a utility police 6 p.m. Monday.
Police said the driver did not stop for an unmarked patrol car, which had its emergency lights and siren on, while traveling west on Township Drive. The driver failed to negotiate a curve and hit a pole. The vehicle was reported stolen about a half an hour before the chase.

Police impersonator
State police in Washington said a police impersonator pulled over an 18-year-old woman at 5:30 p.m. Monday on Interstate 79 at mile post 38, but let her go after saying, “Well, I’ll let you go because your hot.”
The impersonator was described as a large black man, with short hair and no facial hair. He was wearing a tan uniform with short brown pants. He was not wearing a gun belt or a nametag. He was driving a tan police-looking vehicle and used a public address system when he instructed the woman to pull over.
Police said he approached the driver’s window and asked her, “Why were you speeding?” He fled the scene after he said he would let her go. Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call the barracks at 724-223-5200.

Men arrested
Theodore Lombardo, 28, and Richard Lombardo, 32, both of Connellsville, were arrested Sept. 18 along Pleasant Valley Road after they were found in possession of several item reported stolen by Clyde Kimmel, 71, of Mount Pleasant, state police said. The suspects were arraigned by District Justice Robert Breakiron and placed in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Man charged
Ronald Robert Dugan III of Uniontown was charged with theft for allegedly taking $255 from Jason Henry Smith home on Turkeyfoot Road at 3:45 a.m. Monday, state police said.

Two-car accident
State police said Kenneth E. Sparks of Uniontown and Gary B. Casey of Uniontown were involved in an accident at 12:28 a.m. Saturday on Route 51 at Route 119. No injuries were reported.

Two-vehicle accident
State police said Keith Cook of South Connellsville suffered moderate injuries in an accident at 9:25 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of routes 119 and 982 with Greg Carelton of Connellsville, who was not injured. A juvenile passenger in Cook’s vehicle was not hurt. Cook was taken to Highlands Hospital for treatment.

Theft reported
State police said Carl W. Showalter of Uniontown reported the theft of assorted compact discs from his vehicle between 9:30 and 11 p.m. Sunday when it was parked at J.C. Video.

Two-car accident
State police in Belle Vernon said Audrey L. Baird of Dawson and Jody Stewart of Smithton were involved in a head-on collision at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday on Banning Road. Stewart suffered moderate injuries. Both cars were towed from the scene. Perryopolis firefighters and ambulance personnel assisted.

Truck accident
State police said John Young of Independence, Ky., who was driving a tractor-trailer, and Phillip Metz of Bentleyville, who was driving a Ford truck, were involved in an accident along Interstate 70, less than a half of a mile west of Route 481, at 12:50 p.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.

Tires slashed
State police said someone slashed tires on a car owned by Kathleen Lichvar of Buffalo Mills on Sunday when it was parked along Taylortown Road.

Sign broken
State police said someone broke a glass signboard at Roadrunner Car Care on East Main Street, Uniontown, with a rock between Saturday and Monday.

Theft reported
State police said Scott Novak of Hopwood reported the theft of a stereo and compact discs from his vehicle Tuesday at 1034 Woodstock Ave.

Man charged
William Webster, 35, of Alexandria, Va., was charged with simple assault for allegedly punching Justin Scott, 22, of Hopwood in the face during a wedding reception at the Holiday Inn at 12:10 a.m. Sept. 8. Scott suffered a broken nose and several cuts to his face.

Juvenile cited
State police an underage drinking citation was filed against a 16-year-old girl from Connellsville after she was found intoxicated at 11:45 p.m. Saturday.

Deer hit
State police said James A. Furlong of Merrittstown hit a deer on Route 43 Saturday at 3:15 a.m. He had a passenger, Christine Marie Novak of East Millsboro. No injuries were reported.

Man charged
City police filed aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment charges against Richard W. Franklin, 48, of 27 Wilson Ave. Tuesday at 9:35 p.m. Police said they were dispatched to his home because he was breaking items with a golf club, which he threw at officers.

Suspects identified
While state police rounded up drug suspects this week, alleged prostitutes who became inadvertent participants in the investigations were mailed summons.
Members of the state police vice squad, which targets drugs, gambling and prostitution, came across the Uniontown area women while conducting drug investigations.
The women were identified by police as Genice Pancake, 21; Tania Taylor, 28; Robin Daugherty, 40; Jonie Lee Hall, 21; Donna Tollar, 38; Rena Marie Gawreluk, 39; and Annette Robison, 36. Police said the women were charged with prostitution and related offenses.
Springhill Twp.
Mobile home fire
Point Marion and Smithfield firefighters responded to a mobile home fire at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday on Lake Lynn Road near the Lake Lynn Chapel. No injuries were reported. Firefighters cleared the scene at 2:10 a.m. Point Marion EMS also responded to the fire.

State police said a door at Arctic Cove Delight on Route 51 was damaged Sunday.

Attempted car theft
State police said some one tried to steal Robert E. Gratton’s car between 1 and 7 a.m. Tuesday, but wrecked in his driveway along Bells Mills Road.

Warrant arrest
City police said Jason Mills, 20, of 19 Locust St., Uniontown, was arrested at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday in Lemon Wood Acres on a warrant on drug charges.

Van damaged
State police said someone damaged a van owned by Martha Kozaczka of Daisytown at her home between 2:30 and 6 p.m. Sunday.
