Rape arrest

David Eugene Marody, 34, of Fredericktown was arrested on rape and associated charges for an incident that occurred Sept. 19 to 20 in the borough.

District Justice Curtis Thompson arraigned Marody and committed him to the Washington County Prison in lieu of $75,000 straight cash bond. The charges were filed at District Justice William Pelkey’s office.

Springfield Twp.

Cows, horse shot

Michael Lee Richter, 18, of Normalville was arrested on charges alleging he shot and killed two Holstein cows worth more than $2,500 each and a bred Percheron mare worth $6,000, state police in Uniontown said.

He was arrested Wednesday on two warrants charging him with three counts of cruelty to animals, two counts criminal mischief and carrying loaded weapons. District Justice Dwight Shaner arraigned Richter and committed him to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $5,000 straight cash bond.

Police said charges are pending against a 17-year-old male who was in Richter’s vehicle when the animals were shot late Aug. 24 and early Aug. 25.

Richter allegedly shot the two cows, owned by Walter Neal May, 36, of Mill Run with an SKS assault rifle while they were in a pasture along May Road, and then shot the horse along Mason Road, police said, noting that the mare had been bred and survived for two weeks under a veterinarian’s care before dying from the gunshot wound. Richter’s preliminary hearing will be held before District Justice Robert Breakiron.

Vehicle recovered

State police said a 1987 Ford Taurus reported stolen from the McDonald’s Restaurant on Route 51 in Perry Township by Kizzy Azziliene Brown, 24, of Republic was recovered Sept. 18 along Linkey Road.

Theft investigation

State police are investigating a report from Verlene Spivey of Brooklyn, N.Y., concerning diamond purchases over the Internet between July 28 and 31.

Scottdale

Burglary reported

State police in Greensburg said somebody cut a gate lock and pried open doors on two buildings at Kenco Corp., 826 Water St., between Sept. 20 and 23 and took various tools owned by Anthony Glowacki of Connellsville, John Edward Leonard of Connellsville, Terry Metts of Smithfield, Bernard Rudnik of Mount Pleasant, Russell Lee Felgar of Acme, Darrell Vernon Hoburn of Mount Pleasant, Robert Repnik of Herminie and Kenco.

South Union Twp.

Car damaged

State police the bumper on a car owned by George Hunt Jr. of Uniontown car was damaged Wednesday between 3:40 and 4:10 p.m. in the Shop ‘N Save lot.

Mail theft reported

Township police said two pieces of mail were stolen from Chrystal Parison’s mailbox in front of her Henning Road home Tuesday. Police said Parison confirmed through her mail carrier that two pieces of mail – one addressed to her and one to her fianc’ Kevin Simpson – were delivered to her mailbox.

Shed fire

Saltlick and Normalville fire departments responded to shed fire along Back Creek Road 11:40 a.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported.

Uniontown

Men cited

City police cited Isaac I Fabian, 18, of 39 Murray Ave., Uniontown, for disorderly conduct 4 p.m. Wednesday after he used obscenities toward an officer during the traffic stop of Raymond M. Foster, 19, of 79 Murray Ave., who was pulled over on Connellsville Street for driving with a suspended license.

South Huntingdon Twp.

Burglary reported

State police in Belle Vernon said a strong box containing approximately $269 was taken from Moose Lodge 442 on Keller Avenue in Yukon between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Police ask anybody with information about the incident to call the barracks at 724-929-6262.

Houses burglarized

State police said various items were stolen from two residences along Laneview Drive and two residences along Eigner Drive between Sept. 9 and Sept. 14. Police said Dave Dofrflor of Greensburg, Brian Schulte of North Huntingdon, Tunch Ilkin of Pittsburgh and Tim Woods of New Stanton own the houses.

Windshield broken

City police said somebody broke the windshield on a vehicle owned by Judy Collins outside her West South Street residence at 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

Man charged

Scott Rolf of Jefferson was taken into custody by state police and charged with simple assault after he allegedly punched Vicky Main of Washington in the eye, causing swelling, and allegedly grabbing her by her hair and pulling it out at 1:39 a.m. Wednesday.

Lights broken

State police are looking for information on the breaking of several dusk-to-dawn lights in the Lion’s Club Park along Route 21 at Park Avenue between Aug. 12 and Sept. 11.

The damage to the lights owned by Franklin Township so far has totaled $326.28.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call trooper Kiprian S. Yarosh at 724-627-6151.

Carmichaels

Two-vehicle accident

State police said minor injuries were reported when vehicles operated by Heather Scott, 23, of Carmichaels and Kenneth Davis, 31, of Carmichaels collided at the intersection of George and Wood streets at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday. Police said that Davis wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and suffered minor injuries.

Jefferson

No one injured

State police said no one was injured when vehicles operated by Frederick Speer, 18, of Rices Landing and Annette Cosgrove, 40, of Rices Landing collided at the intersection of Route 188 and Pine Street at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Uniontown

Man arraigned

John Horace Lewis, 45, of 103 Cleveland Ave., Uniontown, was arraigned Thursday on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana and possession of crack cocaine that were filed by state police in Uniontown.

District Justice Rick Vernon committed Lewis to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $50,000 percentage bond.

Police said they found 49.5 grams of marijuana and .19 grams of crack cocaine in Lewis’ home when they executed a search warrant Feb. 2. He told police that he was selling the drugs to make money to pay for his son’s funeral and to pay bills. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 8 before District Justice Mark Blair.

Charges pending

Keith A. Richards of Bentleyville alleged to state police that a Bentleyville man threatened him with bodily harm on Ames Road at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 17. Police noted that charges are pending an investigation into the incident.

Jefferson Twp.

Woman injured

State police said minor injuries were reported when vehicles operated by George J. Stiner Jr. of Republic and Bonnie Schwab of Grindstone collided on Laureldale Road at 3:40 p.m. Thursday. Schwab suffered minor injuries in the accident.

East Bethlehem Twp.

Car damaged

Keith Gillis told East Bethlehem police that someone scratched the driver’s side of his Ford Mustang on Sept. 4.

Charges pending

East Bethlehem police said that charges of indirect criminal contempt and false reports to law officers are pending against a Clarksville man after he allegedly called to report an underage drinking party at a Fredericktown residence on Sept. 18. Police noted that there was no party at the scene, only the homeowner.

Forced off road

Cordell Popielarczyk of Fredericktown told East Bethlehem police on Sept. 18 that a white man in a compact vehicle forced him off of Route 88, forcing his Jeep Cherokee into an embankment near Mill Street.

Parts taken

Kimberly Dierson of Vestaburg told East Bethlehem police that someone took the distributor cables from her 1999 Ford Taurus before 8 a.m. Sept. 19.

Hit-and-run probed

Carl Lee of Fredericktown told East Bethlehem police that an unknown vehicle struck the fence surrounding his property on Saturday.

James Bennet of Richeyville told East Bethlehem police that on Saturday a porch light was broken and dog feces smeared on a door to a property he owns on Jefferson Street, Fredericktown.

Money missing

Rose Pechulis of Fredericktown told East Bethlehem police she discovered $40 in bills and change missing from her Frederick Terrace Apartment on Wednesday.
